Turquoise Quilt

Turquoise Quilt Cake with Pink Icing and Pink Batter.

A very Quick Crumb Coat of the cake. I left plastic underneath so the icing would not get everywhere. After applying fondant, I removed it for less clean up.

The finished product.
The gold ribbon was wrapped around the bottom to make it pop a bit more.

Cake Created: End of November 2016

BYE-BYE TUMMY; HELLO MUMMY

Baby Shower's can be fun, filled with games, rubbing the pregnant mommy's tummy, and CAKE! Celebrating the new chapter in a woman's life as she embarks on her new journey into motherhood can always be fun. A cake shaped like her belly is even more fun!

Congratulations to this mom to be as she embarks on her brand new journey to raising a son.

Baby Shower Cake

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower. She wanted it a simple tiffani blue with pops of yellow and red for the theme.

This was the result! I think it turned our nicely :)

Mini Cakes

Today was an interesting morning. I spent about 3 hours creating these mini cakes. Simple yet time consuming. Nonetheless it was fun. It's always great to see the finished product because when you start you never know what you'll end up with.

Cake 1: Simple bridal bouquet cake
Cake 2: Valentines Bride cake
Cake 3: Ladybug Cake

NOTE:
You want to start by creating all your decorations first before you start to ice and cover your cakes. This makes for an easier job as you do not have to stop to create more decorations. It's also best to create your decorations the day before (or a few days before) in order to have them dry. Dried decorations are easier to work with. Leave them at room temperature. In this case, I did not make them in advance but after about an hour, they were mainly dry.

Finished Example:

The following photo snippets are of the process making of the figurines

VOILA!

-strawberry flavours fondant
-buttercreme
-ingredients used to make the batter
-heart Quins
-heart shaped cookie cutter (used to lay the foundation for the Quins in the center of the heart cake)
